Sweet Moment
This morning I went to go and get the girls up and during one of the trips back to their room while cleaning the house before getting them up, I didn’t see them so I went up to their gate. And what I saw next was an absolute blessing and made my heart soar.
Both of them were kneeling, facing each other, and holding hands. Alli was praying for the both of them that God would help them to have a good day. They looked up when they saw that I was there and I apologized for intruding. I shared with Chris what I had seen and we were both just very happy. When we went back into the kitchen, Alli told us she had just finished praying.
AWWWWWWWWWW.
Precious Moments
You know those moments – the ones where one second your little one looks well, like a baby. And in the next nanosecond, they’re suddenly much older and wiser? I had one of those moments with Charlotte today and it (as it always does) caught me so off guard. Do they really HAVE to grow up? I mean, yeah, I want them to but then part of me wants them to stay sweet and innocent forever. But if they did that — I’d never get enough sleep. Ever again.
So yes.
They MUST grow up.
And hopefully they’ll grow up to be the best darn humans they can be! 😉

Have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full!
One for my master,
One for my dame,
One for the gentleman who lives down the lane.

(Ok, now maybe it won’t be stuck in my head anymore!)
Toddlers are sneaky little things
It’s barely quarter after ten and here’s the low down on what the girls have been up to in the past oh, two hours:
-
crawled UNDER their gate into the kitchen to get bagels
-
ATE the bagels
-
put back to bed while I went to tell Daddy about their behaviour
-
SNUCK BACK OUT while I was gone and got some water
-
ordered back to bed with instructions to stay put
-
pulled alli’s mattress off while I was in the kitchen (which has a clear view of their room)
-
Alli got ahold of my make up when she went potty and drew all over her face
-
Alli also lied to me about going potty then asked to go again, I told her we would go together – she got upset and wouldn’t go – so I told her we would go when she decided she was ready. Mistake – she peed right in front of me on the couch.
-
Oh, and did I mention Charlotte climbed out of the pack and play while I checked on Alli in the bathroom?
Am I suprised at any of this? Sadly, no.
Am I upset? Absolutely.
Have I decided what to do about it? Absolutely not. (anyone with any suggestions is MORE than welcome to post! PLEASE!)
And believe me, I have already been praying quite a bit this morning. I have a feeling I’ll be praying for most of the day.
Toddlers.
Sneaky little things, aren’t they.
