Welcome to My Postpartum Voice.
Pick a chair. A bed. A table.
Sit. Have a blanket and some tea.
Lay down. Nap. Motherhood gets exhausting, doesn’t it?
Grab a chair and a cuppa.
You are not alone on your journey any longer.
The loneliness melts away. Tears fall but this time they are of joy because finally. Finally someone gets YOU. Gets how much you hurt. Knows where you are and is willing to dive back into that dark place with you and help you find your way back out. Someone willing to support you regardless of your parenting philosophies or choices. Here, we are all mothers. We are all women struggling to blend motherhood with the additional stress of a mental illness, a silent yet rambunctious sibling to the children we so long to hold near and dear to our hearts. It’s not an easy road.
I stand ready to whisper in your ear that you are not a bad mom because of how you feel.
I stand ready to encourage you, stand with you, beside you, as you courageously reach out for help from the darkest place you may have ever been in your life.
You can do this.
You have a voice. You can use it.
There is help.
There is always hope.
And you are not alone in that darkness which consumes you in the middle of the night.
My Postpartum Voice is full of various stories, resources, and insights for every struggling mother, for partners, family members, and even for professionals looking for a glimpse into the mind of a survivor.
I hope you will hang out for awhile. Go. Read. Explore. Rest easy in knowing that yes, there are other mothers who think the same way you do – and they healed. They learned to love their children, themselves, and their husbands again. You will too.
It’s okay to hang out here and find solace without speaking up. I know how hard it is to say something. Speak only if you feel ready to do so. If you need additional support but don’t want to say hi in front of the world, you can always email me at mypostpartumvoice(@)gmail.com.
