Sharing the Journey with YOU (Take II)!

There was ONE taker last time for this interview (Thanks Heather!)

So c’mon – just five questions. You never know who you might help by sharing your story with the rest of us because even though they’re similar, each one has their own unique nuances and experiences that may just reach out and inspire a Mom or someone close to a Mom to get help for her!

1) What is your personal experience with PPD? Are you a survivor, partner, parent, medical professional?

2) Has your experience with PPD changed your life? If so, how?

3) What are some of your favorite PPD resources?

4) What role, if any, did your faith play in recovery or in your treatment views of PPD?

5) And last but not least – If you could pass on one piece of advice to an expecting mother, what would it be and why?

I’ll throw my hat in the ring on this one…

    1. I am a PPD survivor, times two… kids 15 months apart.

    2. Yes, in so many ways. Bad – damaged relationships, isolated from friends I’m only now getting back in touch with, public embarrassment because of things I did whilst mixing prescriptions drugs with my self-medications…

And good… I think it has made me work harder at being a better mother and trying to take good care of myself. I don’t take much for granted.

    3. My favorite PPD resources are online… kind of like your blog! I find it easier to connect with people who share my experiences this way and really didn’t find much help in my own community.

    4. In a few of my darker moments, I wondered if I had any faith at all and felt morally bankrupt. I tried to be hopeful and had to believe there was some kind of purpose or reason, though I am not quite sure yet what that is.

    5. My one piece of advice would be… educate yourself. Be aware, be involved, set yourself up for a successful transition into motherhood. I think you should read every parenting and pregnancy article you can find, but don’t take any one thing to heart… use a bit of everything you read to form a well-rounded plan of how you are going to handle motherhood.

    What wonderful advice!

Thank you for sharing your journey with us.

So sorry to hear you were unable to find help in your community but I am glad you have enjoyed my blog and found resources online.

Lots of hugs to you and may you have a wonderful day!

    Warmest,

    Lauren

I”m not sure how I found you, but I’m glad I did…because I’m a trimphant of PPD and ever since December 2007 have begun to reach out to help other moms have hope too.

Rather than post my responses here, I’m going to create a post on my blog (lillithmother.blogspot.com) …it will get too wordy here!

    One love,
    Lil
