The gardens of Ginkaku-ji — The Temple of the Silver Pavilion — are among the highlights of my fortnight in Japan because they were so well laid out and so pretty.
You’ll notice that there are no photos of the temple itself because on the day of my visit it was covered in the scaffolding of restoration.
